Information Technology Intern
Project Details
This project shares the Word with an unreached people group. Broad Seed Sowing (BSS) efforts utilize the medium of technology to direct internet traffic to the Scriptures and other resources in the language of different people groups. This is done through tools such as Google advertising and Facebook.
An intern with a knowledge of technology and social media can help teams increase incorporation of social media in these BSS efforts. For example, the intern(s) would work with team members to maintain websites, develop a strategy for moving the initiatives forward, brainstorm and implement ideas on how to reach more people with God’s Word using technology – all the while using social media extensively.
Interns will work with others who want to share their hearts about the Gospel work among our people group and impart a vision for utilizing technology as a tool in this work. Finally, interns will have many opportunities to develop friendships with the local people group, joining in firsthand in the work God is doing.
Qualifications:
- Sophomore or above
- Completed two years at university prior to internship
- Male (due to location culture)
- Computer Proficiency
Must exemplify high standard of values and morals in all areas of life. Interns must have high initiative and be “self-starters.” They will need to be willing to go out into the culture and develop relationships with little guidance or direction from supervisors. It is preferable for interns to have knowledge of technology, websites, and social media to assist in incorporating social media to Broad Seed Sowing initiatives. Interns are not required to have completed coursework in the preferred majors, but a general understanding and past experience in at least some of these fields are required.
